The game can be linked with the Playstation 3 version of Assassin's Creed III to unlock new and exclusive content. The game will feature multiplayer "tailored specifically to the Vita experience." As a result, Patience was recaptured by Judge and forced to give up the artifact. Although Aveline succeeded in rescuing Patience from the Templar's prison, the latter was unwilling to ally herself with the Assassin and attempted to flee.
In her quest to recruit Patience, Aveline learned of the mysterious charm in the young woman's possession and the Templar doctor Edmund Judge that wished to attain it. Due to Aveline's name being known among the slaves, he hoped that she might be more successful than he had previously been. In 1784, Aveline traveled to Rhode Island on the request of Connor, with the intention of locating Patience Gibbs, an escaped slave, and recruiting her to the Assassin Order.
